On Sunday 22nd June 120 Beaver Scouts, and their leaders, "set their sights" on Rhydd Covert and "set sail" for their annual Funday which this year had a Pirate theme.
After the customary "Welcome Ceremony" the morning was filled with bases to visit, where they could make all their Pirating needs - such as a hat, patch, sword & parrot - as well as - walking the plank & digging for buried treasure.
After lunch & some "modern sea shanties" it was time to chase up the rigging and under the tarpaulins to find the treasure, before some serious rope work
- the annual tug of war competition -
this year won by 8th Kidderminster who beat 21st Kidderminster in the final.
To end the day we all had some fun as we played a few parachute (sorry) sail games before it was time to say goodbye and leave.
Thanks to all who helped to make the day great, to the Colony Leaders and their helpers for laying on the bases and yet again coming up with such great ideas, to the team from Rhydd who helped in so many ways, to everyone else who helped, and, finally, to all the Beaver Scouts - we couldn't have done it without you.
